Client Challenge:
The original kitchen had plenty of square footage but felt chopped up and underpowered for hosting. Counter space was fragmented, there was no true gathering spot, and day-to-day items overflowed drawers and countertops. The homeowners wanted a brighter, more functional space with better storage and a place to entertain.
The Vision:
Create a timeless, light-filled kitchen with a hardworking island, easy-clean surfaces, and purposeful storage. Priorities included white cabinetry with warm brass accents, a generous island for prep and seating, a dedicated beverage/serving zone, and layered lighting—while keeping the room connected to adjacent living spaces.
Our Solution:
Cabinetry: Full-height white Shaker perimeter with classic crown moulding and satin-brass pulls; a furniture-style island in deep charcoal anchors the room and provides contrast.
Surfaces: Durable white quartz countertops with a slim modern edge; glossy grey artisan subway backsplash rises to the chimney hood for a quiet, reflective backdrop.
Island: Oversized island with seating for four, deep drawers on the working side, concealed power at the leg, and ample uninterrupted prep space at center.
Storage: Tall pantry cabinetry flanking the refrigerator, wide drawer bases throughout the U-shaped perimeter, and a built-in beverage/bar station with glass display uppers and a undercounter beverage fridge.
Appliances & Lighting: Professional gas range with chimney hood and pot filler, French-door refrigerator, quiet dishwasher, and beverage cooler; under-cabinet LED task lighting, clear-globe pendants, and two large skylights deliver bright, even illumination.
Finishes: Warm hardwood floors, brass hardware, soft grey-green backsplash tile, and stainless appliances create a balanced transitional palette that feels fresh yet classic.
The Result:
The kitchen now functions as a bright social hub. The long island streamlines prep and casual dining, storage is organized and within reach, and the beverage station keeps traffic out of the cook zone. With layered lighting and calm finishes, the space feels open, welcoming, and ready for everyday cooking and effortless entertaining.
