Floating Shelves Home Bar
Modern Slatted-Oak Home Bar Renovation
Client Challenge:
Our clients loved to entertain but were working out of a cramped corner with mismatched storage and no proper task lighting. Glassware lived in several cabinets, wine was scattered between the kitchen fridge and a basement rack, and cleanup during parties created bottlenecks.
The Vision:
They wanted a dedicated, modern bar that felt warm and elevated—something that could anchor the living space, showcase their glassware and art, and make hosting effortless. Natural wood, clean lines, and soft lighting were must-haves, along with serious wine storage and room for multiple people to prep at once.
Our Solution:
Final Draft designed a 16-foot, built-in home bar wrapped in materials that balance warmth and understatement.
-
Feature Wall & Shelving: A full-height slatted white-oak wall sets the tone, paired with two extra-long floating oak shelves. Integrated under-shelf lighting and matte black sconces create layered illumination for both display and task work.
-
Cabinetry & Hardware: Flat-panel cabinetry in a deep charcoal finish keeps the look crisp and modern. Slim brushed-brass pulls add a subtle hit of polish without stealing focus.
-
Worksurface: A low-profile, stone-look countertop provides a durable, easy-clean prep zone that runs the full length of the bar.
-
Appliances: We consolidated all beverage needs: a tall climate-controlled wine column at the left, two dual-zone under-counter wine fridges, and a stainless beverage center at the right.
-
Plumbing & Workflow: Two undermount bar sinks—one central, one at the far right—separate prep and cleanup so multiple people can work comfortably. Discreet backsplash protection and thoughtfully placed outlets keep the wall pristine and functional.
-
Styling: The open shelves display everyday glassware, copper mugs, and a rotating mix of art and decor, giving the space personality without clutter.
The Result:
The once-awkward corner is now a true entertaining hub. Everything has a place, lighting is flattering and functional, and hosting flows naturally—from pouring wine to rinsing glasses—without crowding the kitchen. The slatted-oak backdrop draws compliments immediately, and the clients now use this bar as the visual and social anchor of their gatherings.
