Client Challenge:

Entertaining was central to this family’s routine, but their dated U-shaped kitchen left little organized storage and no clear hub for serving. Countertops became landing zones for small appliances, the range wall lacked proper task lighting, and there was nowhere to keep wine and beverages handy for guests.

The Vision:

Create a bright, welcoming, and highly functional kitchen that balances everyday cooking with effortless entertaining. Goals included continuous quartz worktops, a hardworking island with integrated wine storage, a clear prep/clean zone by the window, and layered lighting—delivered in a timeless white-and-charcoal palette with stainless accents.

Our Solution:

Final Draft re-planned the U to keep services in place while upgrading every surface and storage point, then anchored the room with a furniture-style island.

• Cabinetry: Classic white shaker perimeter with slim matte-black pulls; a contrasting charcoal island with paneled ends and a full wine lattice creates a focal point.

• Surfaces: Durable white quartz countertops and matching backsplash returns; hand-pressed glossy subway tile adds soft texture and bounce-back light along the entire perimeter.

• Island: Waterfall-look quartz top (clean, thin edge) with integrated X-lattice wine storage and generous staging space for plating, pouring, and prep.

• Storage: Deep drawer bases replace hard-to-reach lowers; tall pantry + wall-oven tower consolidates baking gear; dedicated beverage center with glass-door cooler keeps drinks out of the main fridge.

• Appliances & Lighting: Pro-style gas range with stainless hood and pot filler, double wall ovens, French-door refrigerator, and quiet dishwasher; continuous under-cabinet LED task lighting and evenly spaced ceiling cans ensure bright, shadow-free work zones.

• Finishes: Light oak plank flooring warms the all-white envelope; black hardware and the charcoal island provide crisp contrast without visual clutter.

The Result:

The kitchen now cooks and entertains with ease. Continuous counters streamline prep, the island serves as a social hub with ready-to-pour wine storage, and the beverage center keeps guests moving outside the chef’s path. Layered lighting and reflective tile make the space feel larger and brighter, while classic shaker details promise lasting style.
